Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono is a Japanese multimedia artist, musician, and peace activist whose work emerged from the Fluxus and conceptual-art movements of 1960s New York and Tokyo. Her pioneering instruction pieces and participatory works—including Cut Piece (1964) and Grapefruit (1964)—predated her marriage to John Lennon in 1969, with whom she collaborated on several albums and the global "Bed-Ins for Peace." She has continued to record and exhibit into her 90s, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Plastic Ono Band in 2014.
