Tupac Shakur
1971 – 1996
dead
Tupac Amaru Shakur, known professionally as 2Pac, was an American rapper and actor whose four solo albums released during his lifetime, along with posthumous releases, have sold more than 75 million records worldwide. His socially conscious, politically charged lyrics on tracks including "Brenda's Got a Baby," "Keep Ya Head Up," and "Changes" combined with his confrontational persona made him one of the most influential rappers in hip-hop history. He was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996 at age 25; the case remained officially unsolved until a 2023 indictment.
