Timothy Donald Cook is an American business executive who has served as the chief executive officer of Apple Inc. since August 2011, having previously held roles as the company’s senior vice president for worldwide operations and its chief operating officer under co-founder Steve Jobs. He joined Apple in March 1998 and was appointed CEO following Jobs’s resignation, overseeing the company’s global sales and operations before assuming its top leadership position.
