Theodore Roosevelt Jr. served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909, becoming at 42 the youngest person ever to hold the office. He pursued sweeping antitrust action against industrial monopolies, advanced consumer protection through the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906, and used the Antiquities Act to protect over 230 million acres of public land while founding the U.S. Forest Service. He was awarded the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize for mediating the end of the Russo-Japanese War.
