Stephen Miller

Stephen N. Miller is an American political adviser who served as senior policy adviser and director of speechwriting in the first Trump administration from 2017 to 2021 and as White House deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security adviser since 2025. He was the principal architect of the family-separation policy that detained thousands of migrant children apart from their parents in 2018, and is widely considered the chief author of the administration's restrictive immigration agenda, including the travel ban targeting predominantly Muslim countries. Internal emails published by the Southern Poverty Law Center documented his routine circulation of white-nationalist content to right-wing media.
