Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor who is one of the central architects of West Coast hip-hop. Following his 1992 introduction on Dr. Dre's The Chronic, his 1993 debut album Doggystyle reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and helped define G-funk; he has since released more than two dozen studio albums spanning gangsta rap, reggae (as Snoop Lion), funk, and gospel. He has built a multimedia empire including youth football leagues, cookbooks with Martha Stewart, and stints as an Olympic broadcasting personality and Death Row Records owner.
