Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal, commonly known as Shaq, is an American former professional basketball center who played 19 seasons in the NBA across six teams, winning four NBA championships—three consecutive titles with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2000 to 2002 and a fourth with the Miami Heat in 2006. A 15-time All-Star, three-time Finals MVP, and the league's Most Valuable Player in 2000, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest centers in basketball history. After retiring he earned a doctorate in education and has remained a fixture of NBA broadcasting on TNT's Inside the NBA.
