Sean Michael Spicer is an American political commentator and former Republican National Committee chief strategist who served as the 30th White House press secretary in 2017. In his first day in the role he angrily insisted from the briefing-room podium that Donald Trump's inauguration crowd had been "the largest audience ever to witness an inauguration—period," a claim that was demonstrably false. He resigned from the post after just six months and subsequently appeared on Dancing with the Stars and as a host on the right-wing Newsmax network.
