Sarah Elizabeth Huckabee Sanders is an American politician who has served as the 47th governor of Arkansas since 2023 after working as the 31st White House press secretary in the first Trump administration from 2017 to 2019. As press secretary she repeatedly made false claims from the briefing-room podium, including telling the public that countless FBI agents had told her they had lost confidence in James Comey before his firing—a statement she later admitted under oath to Special Counsel Robert Mueller had been fabricated. As governor she has signed sweeping bans on transgender care for minors and on classroom instruction touching on race, gender, and sexuality.
