Ryan Keith Zinke is an American politician and businessman who served as U.S. Secretary of the Interior from 2017 to 2019 in the first Trump administration before resigning amid more than 18 federal ethics investigations into his conduct. He oversaw the largest reduction of national-monument protections in U.S. history, cutting Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante by a combined two million acres, and pushed to open vast new areas of federal land and offshore waters to oil, gas, and coal extraction. He has since represented Montana's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House since 2023.
