Roy Moore
1947 – 20??
Roy Stewart Moore is an American politician and former judge who served twice as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court—1995 to 2003 and 2013 to 2017—and was twice removed from that office for judicial misconduct, first for refusing to comply with a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument and second for ordering Alabama judges to defy the U.S. Supreme Court's marriage-equality ruling. He was the Republican Party nominee in the 2017 special U.S. Senate election after multiple women publicly accused him of having pursued or sexually assaulted them when they were teenagers and he was a county prosecutor in his thirties; he lost the special election to Democrat Doug Jones.
