Peter Sellers

Peter Sellers was an English actor and comedian who first rose to prominence on the BBC Radio comedy The Goon Show before becoming an international film star with iconic comic roles, most notably Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther series. His 1964 dual-role tour de force as President Muffley, Group Captain Mandrake, and Dr. Strangelove in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove earned him an Academy Award nomination, and his final lead performance in Being There (1979) earned another. He died of a heart attack at age 54 in July 1980.
