Pat Buchanan
1938 – 20??
Patrick Joseph Buchanan is an American author and political commentator who served as a senior aide to Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, then ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1992 and 1996 and the Reform Party nomination in 2000. His paleoconservative "culture war" speech at the 1992 Republican National Convention helped define the modern white-grievance, anti-immigrant, isolationist political lane that Donald Trump later used as the foundation for his own movement. He has written extensively in defense of historical figures and movements—including Adolf Hitler's geopolitical strategy and the Confederate cause—drawing decades of accusations of antisemitism and racial nostalgia.
