Neil Gorsuch

Neil McGill Gorsuch is an American jurist who has served as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court since 2017, after Senate Republicans refused for 293 days to consider Barack Obama's nominee Merrick Garland for the same seat. He has voted with the conservative majority to overturn Roe v. Wade in Dobbs, end affirmative action in college admissions, and constrain the regulatory authority of federal agencies in the 2024 Loper Bright decision. His 2007 textbook on euthanasia and assisted suicide is the principal published expression of his judicial philosophy outside his opinions.
