Michael Dale Huckabee is an American politician and Baptist minister who served as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and has been the 29th U.S. ambassador to Israel since 2025. He has used his political and television platforms to oppose marriage equality and abortion rights and to defend Donald Trump throughout multiple criminal indictments. He is the father of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the current governor of Arkansas, and after his 2008 and 2016 presidential bids became a Christian-Zionist commentator on Fox News.
