Matthew Walsh is an American conservative political commentator and host at The Daily Wire whose anti-transgender activism is the centerpiece of his public work. His 2022 documentary What Is a Woman? and his subsequent campaigns have agitated for state-level bans on gender-affirming care for minors, contributed to such legislation in multiple states, and made him one of the loudest U.S. media voices for restricting public expression of transgender identity. He has also publicly defended child marriage and characterized women without children as "ugly" and "miserable," remarks for which he has refused to apologize.
