Matthew Paige Damon is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter who at age 27 won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay alongside Ben Affleck for Good Will Hunting (1997), in which he also starred. His subsequent film career has included the Bourne action franchise, the Ocean's heist series, The Departed, The Martian, and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, and his films have grossed more than $9 billion worldwide. Through Pearl Street Films he has produced socially conscious projects, and he co-founded the global water-access nonprofit Water.org in 2009.
