Mark Adam Foley is a former U.S. representative from Florida who served from 1995 until his resignation in September 2006 over the disclosure of sexually explicit instant messages he had sent to teenage congressional pages. As co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, he had built a public profile on protecting minors from online sexual predators while privately soliciting teenage boys who had served as pages in his own chamber. The scandal contributed to the Republican Party's loss of the House in the 2006 midterm elections.
