Marco Antonio Rubio is an American politician serving since 2025 as the 72nd United States Secretary of State after representing Florida in the U.S. Senate from 2011 to 2025. After spending the 2016 Republican primary campaigning against Donald Trump—who repeatedly mocked him as "Little Marco"—he reversed himself to become one of the administration's most reliable supporters, ultimately joining its second-term cabinet. Earlier in his career he served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, building a record of opposing immigration reform he had previously helped negotiate.
