Lindsey Olin Graham was an American senator from South Carolina who served from 2003 after eight years in the U.S. House of Representatives. Once a vocal critic who in 2016 called Donald Trump a "race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot" and warned the GOP would deserve to lose if it nominated him, he reversed himself completely after the election to become one of Trump's most consistent Senate defenders, including throughout the two impeachments. He was also a leading Senate hawk on military intervention abroad, agitating for U.S. action in Iran, Syria, Libya, and Russia across multiple administrations.
