Leonard Norman Cohen was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, and novelist whose deeply literary songs—including "Suzanne," "Hallelujah," "Famous Blue Raincoat," and "Anthem"—made him one of the defining voices of late-20th-century popular music. He toured into his late 70s after his manager misappropriated his retirement savings, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
