Lawrence Edwin Craig is an American retired politician from Idaho who represented the state in the U.S. Senate from 1991 to 2009. In June 2007 he was arrested in a sting operation by an undercover police officer in a men's bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, and his subsequent attempts to withdraw the plea were rejected by Minnesota courts. Throughout his career he had compiled one of the most consistently anti-LGBTQ voting records in the Senate, including support for the Defense of Marriage Act and a federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.
