Kayleigh Michelle McEnany is an American political commentator who served as the 33rd White House press secretary from April 2020 to January 2021, in the closing year of the first Trump administration. Repeatedly caught making false or misleading statements from the briefing-room podium about COVID-19, the 2020 election, and the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, she also told the press in her first briefing that she would never lie to them. Before joining the administration she had been an early Republican primary critic of Trump who later became one of his most consistent television defenders.
