Isaac Asimov was an American writer and biochemistry professor at Boston University regarded as one of the "Big Three" of 20th-century science fiction alongside Robert Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke. Across more than 500 books he produced the Foundation and Robot series—including the formulation of the Three Laws of Robotics that have shaped subsequent fiction and AI ethics—as well as wide-ranging popular science writing on physics, chemistry, biology, and the Bible. Several women have since publicly accused him of decades of sexual harassment at science fiction conventions, an aspect of his legacy now widely acknowledged in the field.
