Sir Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis is an English actor often described as one of the greatest screen actors in cinema history, and the only male performer ever to win the Academy Award for Best Actor three times—for My Left Foot (1989), There Will Be Blood (2007), and Lincoln (2012). Renowned for his commitment to method acting and his careful selection of roles—often a single film every several years—he has also earned four BAFTAs, three SAG Awards, and two Golden Globes. He was knighted in 2014 for services to drama.
