Dan Quayle
1947 – 20??
alive
James Danforth Quayle is an American retired politician who served as the 44th vice president of the United States from 1989 to 1993 under President George H. W. Bush, after representing Indiana in the U.S. House and Senate. Widely mocked during his vice presidency for verbal mistakes—most famously for adding an unnecessary "e" to a 12-year-old's correct spelling of "potato" at a 1992 Trenton, New Jersey elementary school spelling bee—he became a defining figure of perceived political mediocrity. His one-sided 1988 vice-presidential debate exchange with Lloyd Bentsen produced the lasting line "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy."
