Daniel John Bongino is an American conservative podcaster and former Secret Service agent who served as the 20th deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2025 to 2026. Before his FBI appointment he was one of the most popular right-wing podcasters in the United States, repeatedly amplifying false claims about the 2020 presidential election, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. His departure from the FBI followed reporting that he had clashed publicly and privately with Director Kash Patel.
