Clarence Thomas is an American jurist who has served as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court since 1991, the longest-serving member of the current Court. His confirmation was nearly derailed by Anita Hill's sworn testimony that he had sexually harassed her while serving as her supervisor at the EEOC. Investigative reporting by ProPublica beginning in 2023 documented decades of undisclosed luxury gifts and travel from billionaire Republican donor Harlan Crow, including private-jet flights, yacht trips, and Crow's purchase of property from Thomas's family. His wife Virginia Thomas worked actively to overturn the 2020 election, exchanging dozens of texts with then–White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
