Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee was an English actor whose six-decade screen career produced more than 200 credits and made him one of the most prolific film actors in history. He played Dracula in seven Hammer Horror films, the wizard Saruman in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, Count Dooku in Star Wars Episodes II and III, and Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. Before acting he served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War as an attached intelligence officer, including operations against Nazi war criminals.
