Charlize Theron is a South African and American actress and producer who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her transformative performance as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster (2003). Subsequent leading roles in films including Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde, and Bombshell have established her as one of Hollywood's most bankable action and dramatic stars. Through the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project she has supported HIV/AIDS prevention and education programs across southern Africa for more than two decades.
