Charles James Kirk was an American right-wing political activist and media personality who in 2012, at age 18, co-founded the conservative student organization Turning Point USA and served as its executive director until his assassination in September 2025. Through TPUSA he organized the annual AmericaFest and Student Action Summit conferences, becoming one of the most prominent voices of the MAGA movement on college campuses. He was a sustained promoter of Donald Trump's claims of 2020 election fraud and of conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccination, and his Charlie Kirk Show podcast was among the most-downloaded political programs in the country at the time of his death.
