Bobby Brown

Robert Barisford Brown is an American R&B singer who rose to fame as a member of New Edition before launching a solo career with the 1988 album Don't Be Cruel. His marriage to Whitney Houston from 1992 to 2007 was repeatedly marked by drug arrests on both sides and by accusations of domestic violence, including a 1993 incident in Atlanta in which he reportedly hit Houston, and his own subsequent admissions of physical abuse in his 2016 memoir Every Little Step. He has been arrested at least nine times on charges including DUI, battery, drug possession, and probation violations, and his daughter Bobbi Kristina died in 2015 in circumstances strikingly similar to Houston's 2012 drowning death.
