Alberto Ascari

Alberto Ascari was an Italian Formula One racing driver who won the World Drivers' Championship in 1952 and 1953 with Ferrari, recording 13 Grand Prix victories across six seasons. Famous for the precision and metronomic accuracy of his driving, he also won the 1954 Mille Miglia for Lancia. He was killed in a private testing accident at Monza on 26 May 1955, at the age of 36, just four days after surviving a dramatic crash into the harbor at the Monaco Grand Prix.
