Albert William "Al" Kaline, known as "Mr. Tiger," was an American Major League Baseball right fielder who played all 22 seasons of his career with the Detroit Tigers and was selected to 18 All-Star teams. He won the 1955 American League batting title at age 20—still the youngest batting champion in major league history—and earned ten Gold Glove Awards for his outstanding outfield defense. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980 in his first year of eligibility.
