Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam is a Senegalese-American singer, songwriter, and record producer who emerged in the mid-2000s with a string of platinum-selling hits including "Locked Up," "Smack That," "I Wanna Love You," and "Don't Matter." He has produced and featured on tracks for artists ranging from Eminem to Lady Gaga, and through his Konvict Muzik label and the Akon Lighting Africa initiative he has supplied solar power to communities across more than a dozen African countries.
