Adolf Hitler was the dictator of Germany from 1933 to 1945 who orchestrated the Holocaust, the genocide of approximately six million Jews and millions of other victims. He initiated the Second World War by invading Poland in 1939, unleashing a global conflict that caused tens of millions of deaths and widespread devastation. Under his direction, the Nazi regime systematically perpetrated crimes against humanity, aggressive warfare, and racial persecution.
