Adam Richard Sandler is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker whose comedies including Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, The Wedding Singer, and Click made him one of the most reliably bankable stars of late-1990s and 2000s Hollywood. His later dramatic turns in Punch-Drunk Love (2002) and Uncut Gems (2019) earned him significant critical acclaim, and he received the 2023 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Through his production company Happy Madison he has cast and championed a recurring ensemble of friends and family across his films.
