Abby Wambach

Mary Abigail Wambach is an American former professional soccer forward whose 184 international goals for the United States women's national team rank second on the all-time international scoring list across all genders. She won the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2012 and Olympic gold medals at Athens 2004 and London 2012, and was a six-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year. After retiring she became a leading public advocate for equal pay in U.S. women's soccer and an outspoken voice on gender equity in sport.
