Aaron Schock

Aaron Jon Schock is a former U.S. representative from Illinois who served from 2009 until his resignation in March 2015 amid a scandal involving his use of public and campaign funds. The fallout included his use of taxpayer money to redecorate his Capitol Hill office in the style of the British period drama Downton Abbey, and a federal indictment in 2016 on 24 counts including wire fraud, mail fraud, and falsification of records, ultimately resolved with a deferred-prosecution agreement and his repayment of more than $50,000. He came out as gay in 2020.
